Privacy policy

Effective Date: July 19, 2026

Introduction

Moogega, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Los Angeles County, California business that operates the professional website of Dr. Moogega Cooper — scientist, speaker, and STEM advocate — located at https://www.moogega.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what information the Site collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Information you give us. When you use the contact form on the Site, we collect your first and last name, email address, the subject of your message, and its contents. If you check the box to subscribe to the newsletter, we also collect your email address for that purpose.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the Site automatically collects certain technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the date and time of your visit, the website that referred you, and your approximate location (city or region level). This information is collected through cookies, analytics tools, and standard server logs.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to messages sent through the contact form, including media, appearance, and general inquiries;
  • Send the newsletter to subscribers who opted in — every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time;
  • Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it;
  • Protect the Site against fraud, abuse, and security threats; and
  • Comply with legal obligations.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. The Site is built on the Wix platform, which sets cookies necessary for the Site to function, along with analytics cookies that help us understand Site traffic.

The Site also features embedded and linked third-party content — including YouTube videos and Instagram content. Embedded content can set its own cookies, which are governed by the privacy policy of the platform that provides it (Google/YouTube and Meta/Instagram, respectively).

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the Site work.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited situations:

  • Service providers. Companies that help us operate the Site, such as Wix (website hosting and form processing) and the email service used to deliver the newsletter. These providers process information on our behalf.
  • Speaking-engagement inquiries. Speaking requests are handled through Keppler Speakers, Dr. Cooper’s speakers bureau. If your inquiry concerns a speaking engagement, we may forward it — or direct you — to Keppler Speakers, whose own privacy policy applies to information you provide to them.
  • Legal requirements. If we are required to disclose information by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
  • Business transfers. If the business is sold, merged, or reorganized, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
  • With your consent. Any other sharing happens only if you agree to it.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers send “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals to websites. The Site does not currently respond to DNT or GPC signals, because no uniform technical standard has been adopted for how small-business sites should process them. We honor privacy choices you make directly with us: contact us using the information at the end of this policy and we will act on your request.

Your Privacy Rights

We extend the following rights to all visitors as a matter of good practice, consistent with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) framework:

  • Right to know and access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Right to correct inaccurate information;
  • Right to delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions;
  • Right to opt out of the newsletter and other communications at any time; and
  • No discrimination — we will never treat you differently for exercising a privacy right.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information at the end of this policy. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described above — for example, for as long as we are corresponding with you, or until you unsubscribe from the newsletter — or as long as the law requires. After that, we delete or de-identify it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, and we rely on the Wix platform, which maintains its own security program. That said, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s Privacy

Although Dr. Cooper’s outreach work celebrates science education for all ages, the Site itself is a professional site that is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Third-Party Sites

The Site links to third-party websites — including Keppler Speakers, IMDb, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter/X. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date. If we make a material change, we will flag it conspicuously on the Site.
